Fried up while listening to “I Like Me Better” by Lauv
The smell of carne asada is unmistakable! When I was growing up, I would walk through the front door and instantly know what we’d be having for dinner. Now, nothing takes me back to those days like this dish. It’s not quite like it was back then, the white rice and beans have been replaced with corn and a quinoa-rice mixture. A salad has been added but the taste is still the same! I would highly recommend that you marinate the meat for as long as you can but even if it’s just 20 minutes, it will make a world of a difference.
Carne Asada made easy.
- 1 lb Skirt Steak
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce gluten free
- 3 small cloves Garlic chopped finely
- Sea Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Oil (EVOO or Canola)
Clean the meat of any excess fat that it may have and chop into small pieces.
In a large ziplock bag, marinate the meat with the soy sauce, salt and garlic.
Cover the bottom of your pan with the oil of your choice and bring the pan to a medium to high heat.
Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes on each side for a medium-well done cut.
Remove from heat and let it rest before serving. Enjoy 🙂
